We had a leak around our chimney that needed to be fixed. I called George at GKG on a day I was off work and he was able to come that day and take a look at the leak. George took me on the roof and explained exactly what they were going to do. He explained all the certifications his team has and the experience as well. He didn't try to sell me an entire new roof like other companies, when I knew my roof has about 5-7 years of life left. His team was able to come out the next day and fix the leak and the dumpster they used was gone that night like nothing happened. The leak has been fixed and I am a very happy customer. When I need a new roof I know exactly where I will go, GKG. You should too.

Great service!!! We had a little leak from a few nails in our roof and they plugged the holes right away. GKG literally came and fixed our issue and gave us solutions to make our current roof last longer. We will be using them and recommending them to people in the future!

We spent several months getting estimates for a new roof, based on the fact or roof is 20 years old and was in need of some repairs. The estimates are all over the place. I came across GKG Roofing in online searching and they were also a CertainTeed (shingle we wanted to use) Select ShingleMaster, so I gave them a call. George came out, went over in detail his recommendation on work and how they would do it, and went over the estimate. Most of the other companies just bid the job, giving me what it would cost, but didn't go into any detail on explaining the work, the materials they would use, why, etc... It was encouraging to hear honesty from a contractor. His team did a great job, cleaned things up too well after completion, and we are very happy with their work. We would highly recommend and trust George and GKG Roofing.

Integrity, true to word and professional company! GKG Roofing accommodated my tight timeframe for getting a new roof installed after discovering a leak in my ceiling. George, the owner of GKG, came to my house within a day and immediately diagnosed the problem and showed me photos of the problem and within a couple days (due to a weekend) had a proposal for me that was less than I had originally anticipated. Upon reaching an agreement of schedule and material to be used, I signed a contract with GKG without even getting another quote because I was so impressed with his personalism and methods. Having installed roofs myself in my 20's and 30's, his methods for installing were second to none and was true to word in the contract, having watched his crew remove the old shingles, replacing rotted sheeting and installing the new roof. The crews didn't pound old nails into the sheeting but actually removed them. I cannot say enough about my experience with GKG Roofing company. If I could give 5 or more hearts instead of stars, I would because I absolutely love my new roof. The process from beginning to end was very smooth and even the crew was curious by calling me sir and accommodated any requests I had, which weren't many. They even were working well past dark to clean up the scrap that didn't make it onto the tarps. Thank you GKG Roofing for your hard work, friendly and courteous attitude. The crews seemed to want to do the job and do it right. I could go on and on about this company but if GKG would like to use me as a reference, they can. Thank you, thank you, thank you GKG for everything and all your hard and prideful work. I even tipped each of the workers $20 each (I'd have given more had I had more cash in my wallet) after the roof was installed. 5-star rating from me and more if I could!!

MY CEILING IS DRY!!!!!! George and crew did a great job on my flat rubber roof. I had 4 other companies out to scope the job and chose GKG mainly because he was the only one who didn't flake. He said he would fix it, and he did. He was pleasant to work with and made it all very easy. Price was fair. Other companies wanted double because it wasn't a big job and worth their time. So hard to find people who care anymore. Thanks George!

Since this post, I have moved and we had GKG Roofing out to put on a new roof on our new home. Just like the previous job, GKG Roof did an outstanding job. On Saturday, June 16, 2018, we had a wind sheer come through Pickerington that landed 3 tree branches through our family room ceiling! My daughter & I were scared to death. We proceeded to clean up the water, remove the branches from inside our home and mastermind our plan to restore our home and hearts back to pre-storm. We had no idea who to call to repair our roof and gutters when I had an epiphany to go local. And how happy I am that I did. I googled local roofers near me and GKG Roofing came up on my feed. I called and left a message on Monday the 18th and within one hour the owner, George, called me back. I told him what we were dealing with and he told me he would come out before the day was over to tarp off the holes, which he did. Then on Tuesday it rained again and he had to come back out and put on a bigger tarp cause we had more holes than we initially thought. George got up on our roof in the rain and got soaked working against the elements to insure that we wouldn't have any more water inside of our home. Throughout this entire ordeal, George was so patient with us. He answered all our questions, offered his expertise on the selection of replacement materials and did an excellent job repairing the holes, roof and gutters! The workers cleaned up beautifully each day and used a special magnetic tool to collect any nails that may have fallen to the ground that my fur babies could get hurt on! We are so happy that we found GKG Roofing and truly feel that we not only found an excellent roofer but also an excellent friend!

I had an appraiser say my roof was leaky and would not consider my house marketable until inspected. George was putting a new roof on my parents house and offered to come out to take a look at mine. I’ve used GKG Roofing twice in the last 5 years! First, for a second story rubber roof, and just last week for new three dimensial shingles on the rest of my cape cod. We had a piece of siding fall off from the very highest point on our roof that we needed help replacing, but no one would take the job since it was a small project. We started looking into buying safety harnesses to do it ourselves when I called GKG Roofing They came out later that week, fully prepared with the equipment needed and not only took care of the siding, but also fixed a vent cover that had broken (which I was planning on dealing with later on). They took a look at the gutters and the roof while they were up there and told us everything was in good shape and we shouldn't need any additional work done for awhile. GKG Roofing was professional, honest, and I would 100% recommend them and use them again if needed!

I cannot say enough good things about GKG Roofing and owner George Gilliland. To say I am impressed is an understatement! This is the most professional and honest company I have ever dealt with. When my less than two year old roof started leaking and the contractor was not to be found I was searching for another roofer. I remembered seeing George Gilliland on Good Day Columbus on Channel 4 tv. After checking with Better Business Bureau and the producer of the TV show I decided to call him. It was the best decision I could have made. He scheduled an appointment and after inspecting my roof he gave me the bad news. The former roofing company had done very shoddy work and I had mold in my attic. That was due to no ventilation on my upper roof. Also the new gutters were not installed correctly and my leaf guard was not installed correctly. That explained why I had been having ice cycles and water pouring off the gutters when it rained. George then wrote up a quote of what needed to be done. He explained everything to me so I could understand. I had intended to interview 3 or 4 other roofers. But after much thought and against all advise from friends and family I decided not to talk to other roofers. It was not an easy decision due to the experience with the former roofer. To keep this as short as possible, I finally decided to trust George. As soon as the weather cooperated George called and scheduled the work. His three employees showed up on time and worked for two solid days in cold weather without stopping. I hardly knew they were here. Their work ethic is truly impressive. They not only replaced my upper roof but fixed the gutters and leaf guards also and some other issues. Both days they cleaned up the yard before leaving. I might add they did not quit for the day until it was dark. Also, George asked for no payment at all until the work was completed. To anyone looking for a roofer all I can say is look no further. You will not be sorry you hired GKG Roofing. With all the rain we have had lately I have had no more issues with leaks. I can sleep at night not worrying about my roof. To George and the three men who did the work I want to say Thank You. They are the definition of Honest, Ethical and Professional! They went over and beyond and it is appreciated! One more thing....I was shown pictures of what they were doing throughout the project. Job well done!

"In April, 2017, I initially contacted GKG Roofing because I was experiencing some leaking in my ceiling. They came high recommended by my brother in law whose roof they had recently replaced.
When I met with George, he spent time not only discussing the types of materials that he would use, but also the caliber of the roofing crew and their levels of experience in the roofing trade.
Upon the physical inspection of my home, George also noticed that my dryer vent was completely clogged putting my house at risk for fire. It was also noted that the vent was lined with an accordion type of hose, which trapped the lint. Taking George’s advice, I immediately contacted Dryer Vent Wizard. A technician came out the following day and cleaned the dryer and vent. George also replaced the accordion hose from the roof down, with a straight steel pipe to prevent the accumulation of lint in the future.
While replacing my roof, the source of my leak was discovered and George also fixed that as well by replacing the plywood, which had black mold, and ensuring adequate ventilation to the area.
I really enjoyed working with this company. The staff is friendly, professional, and courteous. Also, the price for the job was fair and reasonable.

"Within a couple hours of contacting him, George from GKG Roofing was at my house evaluating a leak I had around a roof vent. He explained the inferior type of vent used in the roof and why they are susceptible to leaks. He proceeded to seal the vent and refused payment. While this is not the long-term solution, he spent his time and resources to buy me some time until I can have the vents replaced. Because of the exemplary customer service demonstrated by George, GKG Roofers will be the company I call for my roofing needs."

"George was prompt and made time to meet on my leaking skylights, Unfortunately for me they were rotten and needed replaced. Fortunately for me, and LUCK of the schedule, I was able to have them replaced that next weekend! including the rotten boards from the bad skylights, I feel confident these will last long after I need to replace the roof in about 20 years... at which time I will call GKG, I am sure based on the quality and respectful nature of the business George and his family will still be providing the high level of work that I received."

Boosted by the fact that he threw in many extras for free: replaced shed roof, removed first course of plywood and raked back all the interior insulation, installed gutter guard. His crew was friendly, communicative and informative throughout the process and cleaned up before they left each day. To top it off, George rehung an interior light fixture that became loose as a result of the banging on the roof. Our house now looks cleaner and more contemporary. "I called 3 contractors for roof repairs after a storm blew shingles off of our house and garage. I left a message at GKG Roofing and George called me back within a half an hour. One of the others didn't call me back at all and the third one wouldn't be able to look at the roof for three days. George was genuinely concerned because it was going to rain and squeezed us into his busy schedule. He arrived within a few hours of that call and had a temporary patch in place. We also had some damage to the siding on the house. GKG Roofing installed new shingles a few days later and simultaneously replaced the damaged siding. They even put a safety spring on the storm door to prevent this damage from happening again! I highly recommend GKG Roofing and rate them 6 out of 5 stars, or 120%.
